ABOUT RATESMATTERCorrections policy.
Financial information has to be right to be useful. When something on RatesMatter is wrong, we want to know so we can fix it.
What we correct
We correct factual errors, figures or rules that were wrong when published, calculation mistakes, sources that do not support the claim they are attached to, and wording clear enough to mislead. We also update pages when a rule, rate, or source changes after publication; those are updates, not corrections, and they are reflected in the page’s update date.
How to report a problem
Use the contact page and choose “Editorial correction” as the inquiry type, or email info@ratesmatter.com. Include the page address, what you believe is wrong, and a source if you have one. Please do not send account numbers, statements, or other sensitive financial documents.
What happens next
We check the report against the primary source. If the page is wrong, we fix it. For a substantive correction to a guide, we update its date and add a correction note at the top of the article that says what changed and when; small typos are fixed without a note.
For product listings, a figure that may be wrong is rechecked against the provider’s page right away. If it cannot be verified, it is hidden until it can be. If a calculator formula is wrong, we fix the formula and the automated check that should have caught it.
